Dental Implants:

In today’s lifestyle-focused society, conventional methods to replace missing teeth are no longer acceptable options. A bridge involves cutting down good teeth to replace the missing one. Removable dentures that affect your speech, trap food when eating and are placed in a glass of water at night are no longer tolerated.

Dental Implant Placement: Dental implantology is an amazing technology for tooth replacement. In most cases, there is absolutely no better option to replace teeth. If you are a denture-wearer, dental implants can also help with retention of your denture and maintaining your oral structures.

Our office is extremely experienced in dental implantology with a spectacular success rate and leading-edge technology. Ask if you are a candidate for computer-guided implant placement, a new technology for fast and minimally invasive tooth replacement.

What are dental implants? They are replacement tooth roots made out of titanium that are placed into the jawbone. The process of receiving implants is generally comfortable and the implants literally become attached to the jawbone with a great deal of retention. In most cases, they are as comfortable and solid as your own teeth.

The initial phase of dental implants is to have the implants placed into the jawbone. At this point your case may take one of two paths. In many cases today, the implants may be restored with a crown, bridge or overdenture on the day of the implant placement. In other cases, the implants require several months of healing before they are restored. During this time, any patient who has worn dentures previously can continue to do so. It generally takes anywhere from four to six months for the implants to become completely secure. At that time, the final prosthesis, such as highly-retained dentures, crowns or bridges, will be placed.

Regardless of which option you choose, the retention of your prosthesis will be strong and secure, and your dental health may be significantly improved. Dental implants can improve the quality of your life and are considered the "standard of care". Best of all, you can be more confident and comfortable when you are eating and smiling.
