TMJ (Temporomandibular joint)

Our office also offers temporomandibular joint therapy and has a high rate of success in this area. Frequent headaches, neck, jaw and shoulder pain, ringing in the ears and the habits of grinding or clenching of the teeth may be due to a misaligned jaw affecting the TMJ. Dr. Elmajian has developed a system of treatment in this field consisting of a variety and particular sequence of therapies. The utilization of techniques such as dental orthopedics (splint therapy) and myofascial therapy along with other modalities is aimed at realigning the jaw to a more comfortable position and allowing the muscles to relax and subsequently relieving symptoms of pain. A person suffering from the above symptoms should consider having a TMJ consultation.
